Quality of Life

HCCDC knows that communities are more than just buildings, roads, and infrastructure. We serve a critical community organizing role in our service area, pulling together concerned citizens and local organizations to understand and address quality of life issues. We contribute our experience with strategic planning, grantsmanship, training, and project administration to coordinate service programs aimed at improving the quality of life for people living on the Winnebago reservation:

  • Education — we help youth in Winnebago and Walthill plan careers and prepare for college
  • Culture — we incorporate HoChunk culture into all HCCDC programming as a way to honor the Tribe’s traditions and heritage
  • Substance Abuse – HCCDC serves as the lead agency on collaborative community-wide initiatives aimed at preventing substance abuse
