Housing Development

HCCDC works with the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska; Ho-Chunk Incorporated; state and federal agencies; and other partners to increase the availability of high quality affordable housing on the Winnebago Reservation.

Our Down Payment Assistance Program has provided $1.9 million in assistance to help 43 tribal members construct new homes on the reservation in the past decade.

HCCDC also developed and manages Little Priest Apartments, a tax-credit property in HoChunk Village containing 20 affordable 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments.

WE ARE NOW SEEKING TENANTS FOR A BRAND NEW 26-UNIT APARTMENT IN HO-CHUNK VILLAGE, THE WARRIOR APARTMENTS.

  1. Are your housing applications available through your website. I looked but did not see it. Please advise asap. Thank you.

      1. Hello Brian,
My name is Esther Warner and I am interested in becoming a tenant of the Warrior Apartments. I am currently enrolled in school with Wayne State College and make 28,886 a year. The apartment would be me and one other tenant. Please contact me at your earliest convenience regarding my interest. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time,
        Esther

        1. Hi Esther — I will forward your information to our Tenant Services Coordinator, Shanae Sechrist and she will follow up. Also, please feel free to call her at 402-878-2192. Thanks!

  2. I filled out a pre app for the apartments. But I wanted to make some changes to it. How would I go about doing that?

  3. I am considering a move to Winnebago. Housing is my number 1 concern.
Do you rent to non- Native Americans?

Would be looking for a 1 or 2-bedroom apartment for my husband and myself. Have a dog.
